21 de dic. de 2020 · The sistrum is an ancient rattle, similar to the tambourine, found in archeological sites of religious ritual and presumably spiritual transformations and cycles. This acts as a metaphor for the cyclical and "hard ambient" healing sounds of this LP by Avalon Kalin.
5 de sept. de 2024 · Makoto Noru is Avalon Kalin's first guitar album. An LP of searching ambient guitar and repetitive piano owing as much to the Alap form in classic Raga as to any new music aesthetics it may echo. Makoto Noru rides the imaginary world of feeling and relationship through slow and measured gestures in melody.
