  7. Keith Roberts Porter, a member of the National Academy of Sciences since 1964, died in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on May 2, 1997, at the age of 84. He was buried in the church cemetery in Pleasant Valley, Nova Scotia, near to where he was born and lived as a child.
