The 2012 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad and officially branded as London 2012, were an international multi-sport event held from 27 July to 12 August 2012 in London, England, United Kingdom.
London 2012 also demonstrated the inspirational value of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which debuted in Singapore in 2010. The London Games in the first YOG. 5 de jul. de 2005 · The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today elected London as the host city of the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012 during the 117th IOC Session in Singapore. London beat Paris in the final round of voting by 54 votes to 50.
The IOC Evaluation Commission for the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012 (the Commission) is pleased to present the results of its evaluation of the five Candidate Cities for these Games. Listed in the official order of drawing of lots, these cities are Paris (FRA), New York (USA), Moscow (RUS), London (GBR) and Madrid (ESP).
