  1. Sir Thomas Moncreiffe, 7th Baronet (9 January 1822 – 16 August 1879) was a Scottish first-class cricketer and British Army officer. The son of Sir David Moncreiffe and his wife, Helen Mackay, he was born at Moncreiffe House in Perthshire in January 1822.

  3. Moncreiffe baronets, of Moncreiffe (NS, 1685) The second creation was on 30 November 1685 for Thomas Moncreiffe, of Moncreiffe in Perthshire, with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever. He was the son of David Moncreiffe, of Rapness in Orkney, [10] of a younger branch of the family of Moncreiff of Tullibole. [11]

  4. Sir Thomas Moncreiffe was Clerk of the Exchequer and Treasury during the reigns of Charles II, James VII, and II, and William and Mary. Sir Thomas bought land from kinsman and became first in line of baronets inheriting the family estate.

  5. In 1685, a second Moncreiffe baronetcy was created in which Thomas, now the fourteenth Laird was himself created a baronet by James II of England and VII of Scotland. Thomas later became Clerk of Exchequer in Scotland and baillie of the Regality of St Andrews. [2]
