Lascelles renewed his opposition to Sir Robert Peel’s factory legislation, 19, 23 Feb., 17, 27 Apr. 1818, which he regarded as an infringement of free labour, and of parental rights, and as discriminating in favour of steam mills over water mills. He was a member of the Poor Law committees, 1817-19.
