Henry Lascelles, 2nd Earl of Harewood DL (25 December 1767 – 24 November 1841), known as Viscount Lascelles from 1814 to 1820, was a British peer, Tory politician, planter and art collector.
28 de abr. de 2022 · Henry Lascelles, 2nd Earl of Harewood DL (25 December 1767 – 24 November 1841), known as Viscount Lascelles from 1814 to 1820, was a British peer, slave plantation and other land owner, chiefly inheritee art collector, and Member of Parliament.
Lascelles renewed his opposition to Sir Robert Peel’s factory legislation, 19, 23 Feb., 17, 27 Apr. 1818, which he regarded as an infringement of free labour, and of parental rights, and as discriminating in favour of steam mills over water mills. He was a member of the Poor Law committees, 1817-19.

Henry Lascelles, second son of the aforementioned Daniel Lascelles, was Member of Parliament for Northallerton and a Director of the Honourable East India Company. He was the father of 1) the first Baron of the 1790 creation, and 2) Daniel Lascelles, represented Northallerton in Parliament.
