7 de oct. de 2014 · New school in Thal. Together with the existing Church, the recently completed school in Thal forms the new centre of the village. It stands in the middle of a uniformly sloping plot whose incline adjusts each of the elevations independently.
Angela Deuber Architects (ADA) is an international architecture studio based in Zurich, Switzerland. Angela Deuber founded ADA in 2006, having graduated from ETH Zurich in 2002.
22 de oct. de 2014 · Thal is a small village and municipality in northern Switzerland, on the shore of Lake Constant, close to the Austrian border. It recently commissioned young Swiss architect Angela Deuber to build a school; the result is both a new civic focus for the village and an essay in cool rationalism.
This particular characteristic, rarely explored in reinforced concrete, is all the more inspiring because it combines the architecture, the construction and material to form a unity, which rather than being closed, opens up to the world in many unanticipated ways.
She is visiting professor at the Accademia di Architettura, Switzerland, at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Norway, and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland. 21 de nov. de 2018 · The design for a new school building in Thal by Angela Deuber is precise and measured in the compositional definition of each architectural element, exceptional in the attention paid to constructive detail and follows the trail of the most sophisticated and experimental Swiss production.
Seen from the road, the new primary school and kindergarten sits in a green landscape accessible from the street via steps or the natural rise of the site. The structure consists of a column and slab system split by the fissure created for insulation.
