LISA is a game designed to make the player experience emotional strife. I understand when new players don’t want to use Joy in their first playthrough: it can feel like enabling a drug addict. But, I feel that this desire to “do the right thing” can rob people of an emotional experience.
In Joyful, resources are way much more scarce, and you only play with one character. With all of these factors, it really pushes the player to use Joy as their gateway to a standing chance. But not using Joy truly tested my knowledge, skills, and experience with Lisa.
