American artist Shepard Fairey uses his art to foster conversation and reflection on contemporary society through politically charged art. In the current hand-painted work, AK-47 Lotus, Fairey recalls the tactics of Vietnam War protesters who laid flowers in the barrels of National Guard guns brought in to quell peaceful protests.
