Elizabeth Banks (born Elizabeth Irene Mitchell; [1] February 10, 1974) [2] is an American actress, producer and director. She is known for playing chaperone Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series (2012–2015), Wyldstyle in The Lego Movie franchise, and an ICCA commentator in the Pitch Perfect film series (2012–2017).
Elizabeth Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell in Pittsfield, a small city in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts near the New York border, on February 10, 1974. She is the daughter of Anne Marie (Wallace), who worked in a bank, and Mark Phineas Mitchell, a factory worker.
