Sharpey's fibres (bone fibres, or perforating fibres) are a matrix of connective tissue consisting of bundles of strong predominantly type I collagen fibres connecting periosteum to bone. They are part of the outer fibrous layer of periosteum, entering into the outer circumferential and interstitial lamellae of bone tissue.

Las fibras de Sharpey, fibras del hueso o fibras perforantes son una matriz de tejido conectivo que consiste en haces de fibras de colágeno conectadas muy fuertemente al periostio del hueso. Son parte de la capa fibrosa exterior del periostio, entrando en las laminillas circunferenciales e intersticiales exteriores del tejido óseo.

Fibras de Sharpey en el desarrollo óseo fetal. Un sistema de fibras de Sharpey continuo con la membrana ectodérmica está presente desde una etapa embrionaria temprana. Aparecen como haces fibrilares dorsoventrales, de aproximadamente 1 μm de grosor, que también contienen IC, fibronectina y tenascina.
