This is a pretty long rant because I can't talk about Queer as Folk with anyone (for..obvious reasons..). This is just my opinion of Michael Novotny (and it's pretty harsh), so please just take it with a grain of salt. Spoilers below so here's your warning. I REALLY HATE this guy.
