Ryō Mashiba (間柴 了, Mashiba Ryō) is a lightweight multi-weight class professional boxer affiliated with Tōhō Boxing Gym, the former OPBF lightweight champion, and the older brother of Kumi Mashiba. He was the main antagonist during the events of the Rookie King tournament.
Kumi Mashiba (間柴 久美, Mashiba Kumi) is Ryō Mashiba's little sister and Ippo Makunouchi's love interest. As a child, she was a fan of Baldychu from the Pokamon series. When Kumi was 13 years old[1], she lost both of her parents in a car accident.
