John Maler Collier OBE ROI RP (/ ˈ k ɒ l i ər /; 27 January 1850 – 11 April 1934) was a British painter and writer. He painted in the Pre-Raphaelite style, and was one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation.
In 1931 a one man show of his works was held at the Museum Galleries at the Haymarket, in which his landscape studies were a pleasant surprise. John Collier, who was born on 27th January 1850, was the second son of the eminent judge who afterwards became Lord Monkswell.
