The First Black Panther. Following a meteor crashing into Wakanda and leaving behind a rare ore called Vibranium, Bashenga closes the mound that it lands on and forms the Cult of the Panther to protect this valuable metal.
The tribes of Wakanda subsequently united under Bashenga, and he became the first King of Wakanda and the second Black Panther since Mosi 1,000,000 BC. In this role, he was gifted with secret knowledge by Bast and became guardian of the Vibranium Mound and he later founded the Black Panther Cult .
