Brian Topp (born July 4, 1960) is a Canadian political strategist, union leader, and writer and was formerly chief of staff to former Alberta Premier Rachel Notley. He was the runner-up for the federal leadership of the New Democratic Party (NDP) during its 2012 leadership vote, finishing behind Tom Mulcair. [1]

Brian Topp is a Vancouver based, composer, XR developer and interactive music technologist. His main interests are in the intersection of art and technology, and how we can design and develop new ways of creating, interacting with, and presenting various artistic forms through new technologies.
Brian has extensive experience as a strategic planner, negotiator, communications planner, and lead writer for numerous national and provincial campaigns and issue management challenges. He has worked across Canada in both official languages. Brian is currently a fellow at the Public Policy Forum.
