John David Barrow ( Londres, 29 de noviembre de 1952 - Cambridge, 26 de septiembre de 2020) 1 fue un físico, escritor, profesor universitario, divulgador científico, matemático, astrónomo y astrofísico británico. Se doctoró en Oxford en 1977.
John David Barrow FRS (29 November 1952 – 26 September 2020) was an English cosmologist, theoretical physicist, and mathematician. He served as Gresham Professor of Geometry at Gresham College from 2008 to 2011. Barrow was also a writer of popular science and an amateur playwright.
Biografía de John D. Barrow. Se licenció en Matemáticas y Física en el Van Mildert College de la Universidad de Dirham en 1974, doctorándose en 1977 en Astrfísica en el Magdalen College de la Universidad de Oxford, con postgrado en la Universidad de California en Berkeley.
Por ello Barrow insiste en que el principio antrópico no es una teoría científica, sino un principio metodológico. Pero existen dos formulaciones más: una es el principio antrópico participativo, sugerido por John A. Wheeler, el científico que acuñó el término "agujero negro".
