Paul Ehrenfest (18 January 1880 – 25 September 1933) was an Austrian theoretical physicist who made major contributions to the topic of statistical mechanics and its relations with quantum mechanics, including the theory of phase transition and the Ehrenfest theorem.
Paul Ehrenfest. Físico holandés de origen austríaco. Nació el 18 de enero de 1880 en Viena. Fue discípulo de Boltzmann y tuvo como maestros a Hilbert, Klein, Nernst, Stark y Schwarzschild. Doctorado en la Universidad de Viena en 1904 con una tesis sobre el fenómeno de la difusión.
