Sean Michael Carroll (born October 5, 1966) is an American theoretical physicist and philosopher who specializes in quantum mechanics, cosmology, and philosophy of science.

Sean Carroll is a professor of natural philosophy at Johns Hopkins University and a fractal faculty at the Santa Fe Institute. He works on cosmology, quantum mechanics, spacetime, emergence, and complexity, and has written several books and hosted the Mindscape podcast.
