Era una princesa franca, hija de Sigeberto I y de Brunegilda y, dentro de una política de alianzas políticas pactada entre su madre Brunegilda y su abuela, la reina visigoda Gosuinda, se casó con Hermenegildo, hijo del rey visigodo Leovigildo.
