She was the mother of the five boys who inspired Barrie to write his story about “Peter Pan.” However, it seemed that the tragedies for the Llewelyn Davies family would never come to an end, as in 1915 another misfortune struck them.
29 de oct. de 2012 · Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, who in an odd gesture to the gothic happened to be Daphne du Maurier’s aunt, did die, just as in the movie, of lung cancer. But she died in 1910, five years after the first staging of Peter Pan, not just as it came out. Already the play had integrated itself into upper-middle-class British society as a Christmas tradition.
The Davies boys were the inspiration for the stories of Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, in which several of the characters were named after them.They were the sons of Sylvia (1866–1910) and Arthur Llewelyn Davies (1863–1907). Their mother was a daughter of French-born cartoonist and writer George du Maurier and sister of actor Gerald du Maurier, whose daughter was author Daphne du Maurier.
