The Hamilton baronetcy, of Marlborough House, Portsmouth in the County of Southampton, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on 26 August 1776 for John Hamilton, [2] [3] He was a captain in the Royal Navy who distinguished himself at the Battle of Quebec in 1775.
“Sir Archibald, fifth baronet of the first (1776) creation and third baronet of the second creation (1819), succeeded to these baronetcies on the death of his father, the late Sir Charles Edward Hamilton, in 1915.
