  2. Thomas Inskip was born at Clifton, Bristol, on 5 March 1876, the second son of James Inskip (1839-1909), a leading local solicitor, and the first son of his second wife, Constance Sophia Louisa. He was educated at Clifton College and at King's College, Cambridge, studying classics.

  3. Viscount Caldecote, of Bristol in the County of Gloucester, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1939 for the lawyer and politician Sir Thomas Inskip so that he could sit in the House of Lords and serve as Lord Chancellor.
