Plan 9 de Bell Labs o simplemente Plan 9 es un sistema operativo distribuido, usado principalmente como vehículo de investigación. Fue desarrollado como el sucesor en investigación del sistema UNIX por el Computing Sciences Research Center de los Laboratorios Bell entre mitad de los años 80 y 2002.
Plan 9 from Bell Labs is a distributed operating system which originated from the Computing Science Research Center (CSRC) at Bell Labs in the mid-1980s and built on UNIX concepts first developed there in the late 1960s. Since 2000, Plan 9 has been free and open-source. The final official release was in early 2015.

This is the distribution for the Fourth Edition of Plan 9. It contains source of the kernel, libraries, and commands for all supported architectures. It also contains complete binaries for the x86 architecture. See the release notes for information about what’s new in this release.
This is a second release of the 4th Edition, marking the final state of Plan 9 as distributed directly by Bell Labs. The only changes between this release and the original 4th Edition release are the new NOTICE, LICENSE, and README files, and moving the old ones.
