Sirenia es una banda de metal gótico y metal sinfónico, originaria de la ciudad de Stavanger, Noruega. Fue fundada en 2001 por Morten Veland, quien además es cantante, compositor y principal instrumentista.
Los sirenios (Sirenia, «sirenas» en griego antiguo) son un orden de mamíferos placentarios con cuatro especies vivientes. Pertenecen al superorden de los afroterios; entre los animales actuales los elefantes son sus parientes más cercanos. [1] Son los únicos mamíferos marinos herbívoros (de ahí que sean llamados «vacas marinas»).
