Senichi Hoshino (星野 仙一, Hoshino Sen'ichi, January 22, 1947 – January 4, 2018) was a Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball player and manager. In 2003, he led the Hanshin Tigers to their first Central League pennant in 18 years before retiring for health reasons.
星野 仙一 （ほしの せんいち、 1947年 〈 昭和 22年〉 1月22日 - 2018年 〈 平成 30年〉 1月4日 [1] ）は、 日本 の プロ野球選手 ・ 監督 、 野球解説者 、 タレント 、 コメンテーター 。 岡山県 児島郡 福田村（後の 福田町 。 1953年 に 倉敷市 と合併）出身 [2] 。 現役選手時代のポジションは 投手 で、 1969年 から 1982年 にかけて 中日ドラゴンズ で主戦格投手として活躍し、 1974年 ・1982年には中日の セ・リーグ 優勝に貢献した。 また、1974年には 沢村賞 に加えてリーグ初となる 最多セーブ投手 のタイトルを獲得している。
8 de ene. de 2018 · Former Hanshin Tigers manager Senichi Hoshino, who led the team to its first pennant in 18 years in 2003, passed away on January 4th of pancreatic cancer. He was 70 years old. As a young man, Hoshino wanted nothing more than to take down the Yomiuri Giants.
At age 35, Senichi wrapped up his career as a pitcher in 1982 with a 3-5, 5.32 season. Spending his entire career with Chunichi, Hoshino had gone 146-121 with 34 saves and a 3.60 ERA in 500 games. After retiring as a player, Hoshino became a baseball commentator for NHK.

13 de feb. de 2018 · After a glittering career as a player with the Chunichi Dragons, Senichi Hoshino became a team manager and eventually led the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles to glory in the Japan Series in 2013. He later served as the team’s senior adviser and vice chairman, laying the foundations for its future.
