Berlenti Abdel Hamid (Egyptian Arabic: برلنتي عبد الحميد pronounced [beɾˈlænti ʕæbdel.ħæˈmiːd]) (20 November 1935 – 1 December 2010), born Nefisa Abdel-Hamid Hawass (Egyptian Arabic: نفيسة عبدالحميد حواس), was a prominent Egyptian actress and an icon of the Egyptian cinema's golden age.

Berlenti Abdul Hamid, an icon of Egyptian cinema's golden age, passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 75. The actress was the widow of Abdel Hakim Amer, the first vice-president to late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
Upon joining the Modern Egyptian Theatre, Abdul Hamid’s first role was in the play “Al-so’louk i.e. Tramp”. She was well recognized by the producer Zarpanely, who gave her the first silver screen debut in the film “Shamm al-nesseem i.e. Easter (1952),” after which she played a lead role in Salaah Abu-Seif’s “Rayya and Sekeena.”
Berlenti Abdul Hamid nació en el barrio de Nara, en Diyarbakir, Turquía, en 1929. Fue la única mujer en su familia en recibir una educación, y estudió literatura turca y filosofía en la Universidad de Estambul.
