Archive footage of Hartnell taken from The Dalek Invasion of Earth introduced the story.
12 de jun. de 2024 · After William Hartnell left Doctor Who, he made a small appearance in the show's first multi-Doctor story, "The Three Doctors," in 1973, before passing away two years later. The First Doctor was recast for 1983's "The Five Doctors," with Richard Hurndall taking on the role.
23 de jun. de 2024 · Richard Hurndall portrayed the First Doctor, as the character's original actor, William Hartnell, had died since his last appearance on the show ten years previously. Since Tom Baker decided not to appear in the special, footage from the unfinished serial Shada was used to portray the Fourth Doctor.
Hace 6 días · That warrants a post of its own, but suffice it to say it made my heart so happy to see Jon Pertwee back as the Third Doctor and Patrick Troughton return as the Second Doctor! And Richard Hurndall was excellent as the First Doctor, stepping in for William Hartnell who passed away in 1975.
