John David Souther (born November 2, 1945) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He has written and co-written songs recorded by Linda Ronstadt and Eagles. Souther is known for his songwriting abilities, especially in the field of country rock.
J.D. Souther originally did My Opening Farewell, New Kid in Town, Everyday, The Last in Love and other songs. J.D. Souther wrote New Kid in Town, Heartache Tonight and White Rhythm and Blues.
