Richard Strauss had a lifelong champion in Beecham, who introduced Elektra, Salome, Der Rosenkavalier and other operas to England. Beecham programmed Ein Heldenleben from 1910 until his last year; his final recording of it was released shortly after his death.

10 de ene. de 2013 · Fantastic stuff, Beecham's conducting is always interesting. Guess you've given up the idea of doing any of the above-mentioned, as the response was overwhelming...but those look just as interesting as the Harty's you mentioned.
