Bass player Riff West died on November 19, 2014, at age 64, after a lengthy illness caused by severe injuries suffered in a car accident. Original drummer Bruce Crump died on March 16, 2015, at age 57, from complications after a 12-year battle with throat cancer.
The band, founded by vocalist Jimmy Farrar, guitarist Duane Roland, drummer Bruce Crump, guitarist Steve Holland, and bassist Riff West took its name from the title of the hit song, "Gator Country".
21 de ene. de 2012 · I've known Riff since 1979. He played bass in the first band I saw in a club when I was 18, a band with a couple albums called White Witch. Riff's always been a star on the scene here in central Florida. One of my favorite bass players ever...real in your face and busy but totally solid.
