  2. Dynevor School was a secondary school in Swansea, Wales, at times co-educational and at others for boys only. It was closed in 2002. The school's premises have been re-developed and are now used by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).

  4. Former pupils, teachers and families are remembered against a background of the newly established Swansea Municipal Secondary School for Boys, later Dynevor Grammar School, where many gained a place before the war.

  6. In the ensuing decade Dynevor consolidated its position as one of Swansea’s foremost secondary schools. Then, in February 1941, the school became a victim of Germany’s 3-night blitz of Swansea’s town centre. The roofs of both buildings were gutted by incendiary bombs, rendering the top floor uninhabitable until 1959.

  7. We know that the original school opened in Trinity Place in 1883, in premises later used by the Swansea Municipal Secondary GirlsSchool, to use the description given on my mother’s report book when she attended that school from 1916-23.
