Loyola Academy is a private, co-educational college preparatory high school run by the USA Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus in Wilmette, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, and in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago.
Founded in 1909, Loyola Academy is a co-educational college preparatory school rooted in the Jesuit, Catholic tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Jesuit education is the oldest and largest private academic system in the world, dating back to 1548.
Patton attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. He played basketball, football and baseball at Loyola in the Chicago Catholic League. He was a gridiron football quarterback, basketball guard and baseball pitcher-first baseman who was regarded as one of the best three-sport athletes of his day in the Chicago metropolitan area.
