Prince Frederick Josias of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (26 December 1737 – 26 February 1815) , was a famous general of the Habsburg Emperors. Born at Schloß Ehrenburg in Coburg, he was the youngest son of Duke Francis Josias, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and Anna Sophie, Princess of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.
His youngest son Prince Frederick Josias made himself and the Duchy famous with his sieges and victories as an Imperial general and field marshal in the Austro-Turkish War and the War of the First Coalition against France.

Prince Frederick Josias of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1780-1820), second son of Francis Josias, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, and Anna Sophia of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadtt, was brother of the reigning Duke Ernest Frederick of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and uncle of Francis, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
