LM Design. Lions and Tigers is the creative consultancy of Oakland based Art and Design Director Liz Mullally. Her experience includes direction of: lifestyle, studio and product photography; retail creative development; product launch across print and web; brand identity and development; packaging design and CG image development.
Bassist Liz Mullally completed the group's initial lineup, and Blue October released an independent debut album, The Answers, in 1998. The band's emotive brand of post-grunge led to the sale of 5,000 copies in their native Houston alone.

Ryan was working at a restaurant in Houston at the time, and invited restaurant patron Elizabeth "Liz" Rapstein Phillips (née Mulally) to join on bass after striking up a conversation upon noticing she had a drum tuning key on her key chain.
