The Yardbirds were an English rock group that had a string of Top 40 radio hits in mid-1960s in the UK and the US and introduced guitarists Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Their first album released in the UK, Five Live Yardbirds (1964), represented their early club performances with Clapton.

1 de abr. de 2009 · Eric Clapton’s own first date with The Yardbirds came at Studio 51, on Great Newport Street, the evening after the Crawdaddy show; that same weekend, he moved into the communal flat that the entire group, bar drummer Jim McCarty, shared in Kew, and quickly revealed that his much-vaunted shyness was equally much in the eye of the beholder.
