Apparently it was popularised by US Senator Paul Tsongas, who, when following a cancer diagnosis decided not to seek re-election, and he attributes it to his friend, lawyer Arnold Zack who wrote to him, “No one on his deathbed ever said, ‘I wish I had spent more time on my business.’”
