Elizabeth Campbell, Duchess of Argyll, 1st Baroness Hamilton of Hameldon (c. December 1733 – 20 December 1790), earlier Elizabeth Hamilton, Duchess of Hamilton, née Gunning, was a celebrated Anglo-Irish beauty, lady-in-waiting to Queen Charlotte, and society hostess.

Born in Ireland, Elizabeth Gunning was a celebrity beauty who caused a sensation when she and her sister were introduced into high society. Though the sisters had neither dowries nor rank, their physical attractiveness secured them excellent marriages.
Joshua Reynolds exhibited his full-length portrait of Elizabeth Gunning in the very first exhibition of contemporary art in Britain in 1760. It created a sensation and helped establish Reynolds as the leading painter of his generation.
Famous Irish beauty and society hostess; former wife of 6th Duke of Hamilton, and later wife of 5th Duke of Argyll Celebrated beauty, second of the three famous Gunning sisters. Elizabeth Gunning was the second daughter of Col. John Gunning of Castle Coote, County Roscommon, Ireland and his wife, the Hon. Bridget Bourke, daughter of the 6th Viscount Mayo.
