5 de may. de 2023 · My grandmother LOVED Tyrone Power. That’s mostly why I know about him. Also agree with R3, he’s so much better than Bradley Cooper in Nightmare Alley, his performance has such cumulative power, the final scene comes together so well and is deeply moving. Cooper overplays it to the point where you wish del Toro would just yell “Cut!”
2 de ago. de 2024 · Tyrone Power died at age 44, an alcoholic and a chain smoker. He already looked bad by the time he hit 30. His was very much a cautionary tale on how not to live one's life. His son however is aging pretty well.
21 de jun. de 2020 · R13 Tyrone Power may have been the most beautiful male actor of his time. But he smoked like a chimney and drank very heavily. His looks were all but gone even by his mid thirties. He died of a massive heart attack at age 44.

I forgot how lovely Gene was in her prime, how ethereal and graceful, she'd be the perfect DAISY BUCHANAN. Yet there's something about her, that I find annoying. Anne Baxter is GROSS. She's SO bad.

13 de nov. de 2021 · The original film starring Tyrone Power is creepy, sexy, suspenseful and beautifully filmed in b&w. I understand why some movies are updated to reflect the times but carnivals, geeks, and freaks are things of the past which can't be duplicated in the present. I get all the remakes of "A Star is Born" -- each one represents a different era.

He was there for Basil and Lord Henry to fawn over while they uttered wonderful epigrams. I don't think Wilde gave him any lines or thoughts at all. He was a slave to his own beauty.
25 de feb. de 2024 · Tyrone Power was in love with Judy Garland. They had an on again off again relationship. He really wanted to marry her but she knew he "had issues." He was forced into a marriage to Linda Christian. But he pined for Judy. He and Linda had a rocky time of it. Right now I am watching A Streetcar Named Desire and my gawd, Marlon Brando was a beauty!
