Hace 5 días · Ponsonby, an Irish peer from 1724, was created earl of Bessborough in 1739. In 1751 he transferred Wicken to his son William, who succeeded as earl in 1758 and died in 1793. His son Frederick, the third earl, was still lord of Wicken in 1800 when he offered the manor and its lands for sale.
Hace 5 días · The mesne manor of Penrith belonged to the Hutton family of Hutton-hall from the reign of Edward I. till it was sold by Addison Hutton, M.D. the last of the family in 1734, to John Gaskarth, Esquire, whose son in 1790, sold it to the late Earl of Lonsdale. It is now the property of the present Earl.

She also had two younger half-siblings John de Warenne, 7th Earl of Surrey and Isabelle de Warenne, by her mother's second marriage to William de Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey. Isabel's father had died in 1225.
