I would be putting records on for John McGeoch, Billy Currie, Midge Ure, Zaine Griff, Peter Godwin, Richard James Burgess… I don’t know if Gary Numan’s band came in… Steve didn’t let Stevo or Gary Numan in.

Hace 4 días · Ultravox, “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes” (1984) The video shows an accident in a nuclear power plant (two years before Chernobyl), but the song is definitely about nuclear war. Midge Ure was inspired by the novel On The Beach (1957), about a group waiting to die from the approaching radiation fallout (it was adapted to a stellar film in 1959).
