The hard braces are made from thick hard plastic, the same that your kid's braces are made from. The soft braces are made from thick laminating sheets, giving them a plastic feel, but they are not hard plastic. The soft brace is free in hopes of making it accessible to more kids. The hard brace by itself is $40 and with a Higgy Bear it is $45.
