Thin Lizzy est un groupe irlandais de hard rock formé à Dublin en 1969. À l'origine un trio composé d' Eric Bell ( guitariste ), Phil Lynott ( bassiste, chanteur et principal compositeur) et Brian Downey ( batteur ), le groupe connaît un premier succès en 1973 avec Whiskey in the Jar, une adaptation d'un air traditionnel irlandais.
