  7. Bassaleg School is a mixed 11-19 school to the north east of Newport. Currently, it has 1,749 pupils on roll with 405 in the sixth form. This is slightly lower than at the time of the last inspection, when there were 1,767 pupils in total including 502 in the sixth form. Pupils come mainly from six partner primary schools.
