Due to the constant rumors that V2 actually survived the second fight in [ 4-4: CLAIR DE SOLEIL], Hakita has confirmed -quite emphatically - that "It's fucking dead." [3] , meaning that V2 is fucking dead, leaving just blood and the Whiplash.
I've seen a lot of differing opinions lately and wanted to ask more thoroughly. It was pretty obvious that V2 had to die eventually, so I wasn't super surprised or distraught. But it was bittersweet actually killing V2, and I can't exactly put my finger on why.
V2 dies in the 2nd fight against them, in Act 2 in 4-4, 4 being the square of 2. It was calculated. Plus, you get 2 arms from V2.
V2 is the second machine in the "V" series, the first being V1. V1 first encounters V2 as the boss of 1-4: CLAIR DE LUNE and the final boss of the Limbo Layer, where it is first seen when V1 places the first skull in the level and walks back to the door where it will be seen sliding across the lower hallway for a moment.
The only way I can see V2 return is just some machine scavenges his parts and out of fury and a lust for revenge he overwrites the robots programming with his own and uses it to construct a new body to kill V1.
