The Romería de El Rocío is a procession/pilgrimage on the second day of Pentecost to the Hermitage of El Rocío in the countryside of Almonte , Andalucia, Spain, in honor of the Virgin of El Rocío.
It is one of the pilgrimages you should see once in your life. Every year, almost a million pilgrims, belonging to one of the 127 hermandades – brotherhoods – arrive at El Rocio from almost all over Spain, to give thanks to Nuestra Señora d’El Rocío (Our Lady of El Rocío).

Believers are very devoted to the Virgin of El Rocío all year round but the Pilgrimage of El Rocío is the high point. Pilgrims travel to the village from places all over Spain and even from abroad.

El Rocio is in Huelva province, in the heart of the Doñana park, between Almonte and the coast. Most pilgrims, known as rocieros, approach the town through the park itself.
