Cyclops is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in the comic book The X-Men. Cyclops is a member of a subspecies of humans known as mutants, born with superhuman abilities.
As the leader of Xavier's X-Men, a task force with the goal of ensuring peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants, Cyclops guided other mutants in countless missions and adventures, and even became the headmaster of Xavier's School.
