1 de oct. de 2019 · Containing only 44 units, a mix of one- and two-bedrooms exclusively for seniors, the six-story structure looms large among its neighbors—mainly two-story houses, small commercial buildings, and empty lots—but addresses only a trickle of the overwhelming demand to accommodate low-income residents within our cities.
This 65,000 square foot hybrid library/affordable housing project in Chicago combines a 16,000 square foot branch library with a 40-unit affordable housing development. The two-story library supports reading and learning areas for all age groups, as well as a large community multi-purpose room which supports public lectures, gatherings and events.
The residential section includes 44 apartments for individuals that are over the age of 62, with 30 units for public housing and 14 affordable units. Each apartment stands out thanks to the eight custom Valflon® colors, supplied by Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings.
