Brian Wilde, the veteran comic actor, has died at the age of 80. Wilde worked on screen and television for more than half a century, but will be best remembered for two roles — as Foggy in the long-running BBC series Last of the Summer Wine and the ineffectual prison officer Mr Barraclough in Porridge .
Brian George Wilde (13 June 1927 – 20 March 2008) was an English actor, best known for his roles in television comedy, most notably Mr Barrowclough in Porridge and Walter "Foggy" Dewhurst in Last of the Summer Wine.
