Children of the Sea ( Japanese: 海獣の子供, Hepburn: Kaijū no Kodomo, lit. "marine mammal children") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Igarashi. It was serialized in Shōgakukan 's seinen manga magazine Monthly Ikki from December 2005 to September 2011.

The heroine, Ruka, who was banned from taking part in the activities of her club during the summer vacation, meets a strange boy named Umi. She is fascinated by Umi, who she sees swimming freely in an aquarium, and finds out that he, along with Sora, was raised by a dugong.

When Ruka was younger, she saw a ghost in the water at the aquarium where her dad works. Now she feels drawn toward the aquarium and the two mysterious boys she meets there, Umi and Sora. They were raised by dugongs and hear the same strange calls from the sea as she does.
