Candice è nata e cresciuta a Mooi River, centro abitato situato a 150 km a nord-ovest di Durban (), in una famiglia di afrikaner di origini olandesi.Suo padre, Willem Swanepoel, è di Mutare ().Sua madre, Eileen Green, è sudafricana.
